| We
exhibit work that tends towards a fresher and evolving aethstetic.
Like the cutting-edge rock bands @ CBGB's and the alternative acoustic
music in the Gallery itself. We strive to showcase uniquely talented
artistic perspectives that will set future standards.
Artwork
submissions should be in the form of Slides or Color Xeroxes and
should include a contact telephone number. The envelope should be
clearly labeled "ARTWORK", so as to prevent it from being mixed
up with music submissions. It is preferable for artwork to be dropped
off during the day between the hours of noon and 6pm. This will
lessen the chance of damage.
Please
allow 3 full weeks for the artwork to be reviewed. Then call on
Fridays between 2 and 6 p.m. ONLY. This is the only time artwork
and artshows are handled. |
| To
get booked at CB’s 313 Gallery you must send a demo CD by
mail to us at:
313 Bowery NYC, NY 10003, or you may send a link to a website or
webpage with at least 5 songs in MP3 format to: Micheline@cbgb.com.
MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE A TELEPHONE NUMBER OR WE CANNOT BOOK
YOU!
Your band is appropriate for the Gallery if you are acoustic, or
a stripped-down electric band. (This means a 3-piece ‘cocktail’
drum kit.) Also, due to the fact that the Gallery does not have
. sound-proofing insulation, Drummers May NOT Use Wooden Sticks!!
Hot-Rods are fine
(they’re less dense and require no alteration in playing technic),
as are bundle-sticks,
brushes or percussion.
If your band is not low-key, or if you don’t want to turn
the volume down just a bit, then you
should play next door at CBGB
& OMFUG.
After the demo or e-mail has been received, Call on the following
Wednesday 1-5pm at:
