Installment Vol.5 Page 8

We were selling the album out of the club and one day two French gentlemen came by and bought 3,000 albums. It seems they had a large record store in Paris, and were a European distribution center. They paid me in $500 and $1,000 bills, which I had never seen before, and have never seen since. I took the money to my bank but they wouldn’t give me credit for the bills till they checked the serial numbers. The bank informed me that these bills are not normal legal tender and permission of use has to be given by the bank as to their authenticity. The money sure helped pay a lot of bills. (By the way, McKinley and Cleveland are the presidents on the bills respectively).

A few record labels expressed interest in distributing the record and Jim Delehant of Atlantic offered the best deal. The advance monies were split with the bands and I managed to recoup a lot of the expenses. I arranged tours up and down the east coast. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun too. This record helped put us on the map even more and inspired a lot of young people around the country to get involved in rock and roll punk movement. Even before I sold the album to Atlantic Records, I started to produce a live vol. 2 album since there were so many bands clamoring for attention. And they were really good! A few of the bands on the 2nd album were Orchestra Luna, The Dead Boys, The Planets, The Marbles, De Waves, Charles St. Choir, The Demons, Just water, and there may have been one or two others. Craig Leon was again the producer and mixer .Unfortunately, I ran out of money and never put the album out.
